Preface
Digital new infrastructure serves as the core foundation for high-quality development of smart hospitals, while new-quality medical networks act as a vital backbone connecting full-scenario services covering clinical diagnosis and treatment, hospital-wide IoT, and patient care. As an authoritative and professional event in China’s medical digitalization sector, the 8th Smart Medical Innovation Competition brings together medical institutions and tech enterprises nationwide to showcase innovative medical infrastructure solutions with tangible implementation value and technological breakthroughs.
Ocamar has forged in-depth collaboration with Datong No.5 People’s Hospital to co-build a benchmark integrated network project, which claimed a major national award in the competition. This achievement demonstrates the technological strengths of domestically developed medical IoT through hospital-enterprise collaborative innovation.
01、The Top-Tier National Innovation Event for Smart Healthcare
The 8th Smart Medical Innovation Competition stands as one of the most authoritative industry events in China’s smart healthcare landscape, attracting participation from major medical institutions and medical technology firms across the country. Multiple competition tracks focus on core areas of medical digital transformation. The Advanced Infrastructure (New-Quality Medical Network) Track specifically solicits innovative projects featuring hospital underlying digital networks and integrated IoT platforms, aiming to address prevalent industry pain points including fragmented multi-network architecture, unstable clinical networks, and barriers to large-scale smart IoT deployment. After rigorous screening at provincial preliminaries and on-site presentations evaluated by expert panels in the national finals, outstanding innovative projects were selected for each track.
The national finals concluded on June 24, 2026. Led by Datong No.5 People’s Hospital with Ocamar Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. as the co-participant, the joint project Building an Information Ecosystem for Smart Hospitals via One-Net Unlimited Access competed in the Advanced Infrastructure (New-Quality Medical Network) Track and was honored with the Excellence Award.
02、One-Net Unlimited Access: Constructing an Information Ecosystem for a Provincial Regional Medical Center’s Smart Hospital
As a Class A tertiary general hospital serving as a regional medical hub, Datong No.5 People’s Hospital faced multiple challenges during its smart upgrading process: independently deployed disjointed wireless systems, lagging networks for mobile clinical work, lack of unified management for IoT devices, and arduous medical data security governance. Supported by Ocamar’s proprietary One-Net Unlimited All-Band Digital Distribution Platform, the two parties jointly built an integrated digital foundation for hospital convergence:
1、Single network architecture supporting full frequency bands from 400MHz to 7125MHz, compatible with all wireless communication protocols within the spectrum range, including WiFi6E, WiFi7, ZigBee, LoRa, LTE Cat1, NB-IoT, BLE, GFSK, RFID, WMTS, as well as operator 5G/6G. The platform enables unified transmission of clinical care, security monitoring, logistics and other hospital services over one network, cutting infrastructure investment and operational maintenance costs.
2、Medical-grade seamless zero-roaming coverage to sustain stable network connections for mobile nursing, medical image retrieval, and operating room diagnosis and treatment workflows.
3、Three-layer physical network isolation coupled with multi-factor identity authentication to fully comply with classified protection standards for medical data.
4、A unified underlying platform interconnects all IoT applications including smart wards, asset positioning, hospital-acquired infection tracing, and remote consultation, forming a complete information ecosystem for smart hospitals.
The complete solution has been fully deployed across the hospital, featuring replicable and scalable value for medical new infrastructure construction, earning high praise from the competition’s expert review panel.
03、Hospital-Enterprise Collaboration: Forging a National Benchmark for Medical New Infrastructure
1. Supply of Core Technological Foundation to Compensate Hospitals for Weaknesses in Underlying R&D and Achieve Independent and Controllable Technology
Medical institutions excel in clinical operations and hospital management yet lack internal R&D capabilities for communications, IoT, and ultra-wideband converged networks. With over two decades of dedicated expertise in medical wireless technology and services for more than 1,000 medical facilities nationwide, Ocamar owns the fully self-developed One-Net Unlimited Platform with complete independent intellectual property rights. The company delivers a full-chain original technical solution covering network planning, hardware deployment, platform development, and secure operation and maintenance, eliminating reliance on third-party underlying equipment.
It empowers hospitals to build self-controlled, long-term iterable digital foundations for smart healthcare that fully meet mandatory assessment indicators for smart hospital grading and healthcare information interoperability maturity set by the National Health Commission.
2. Collaborative Hospital-Enterprise Implementation: Establishing a Conversion Channel from Clinical Demands to Technical Delivery to Prevent Impractical Technology Deployment
The project leverages Datong No.5 People’s Hospital’s in-house informatization team with 15 years of industry experience to identify frontline clinical pain points and business process requirements. Ocamar’s dedicated medical IoT engineering team customizes technical architectures tailored to hospital scenarios, and the two parties carried out phased rollout in four stages: prioritizing high-demand smart ward modules, followed by hospital-wide IoT access integration, data middle platform consolidation, and ecological application expansion. This phased approach avoids disruptions to routine diagnosis and treatment caused by one-time overhauls of large-scale informatization projects. This collaborative model—hospitals proposing clinical requirements, enterprises delivering customized technologies, and joint implementation—solves the widespread industry issue of technical solutions decoupled from real clinical needs and unsatisfactory on-site outcomes, ensuring digital technologies truly support medical staff and benefit patients.
3. Industrial Benchmark Empowerment: Standardized Construction Solutions to Boost Balanced Regional Medical Digitalization
As the core technology provider, Ocamar participated end-to-end in building this benchmark project, accumulating standardized processes for converged network construction, operational maintenance specifications, and security governance frameworks.
·Short-term: Continuously optimize platform performance to achieve full digital coverage across all departments of Datong No.5 People’s Hospital.
Medium-term: Cooperate with the hospital to roll out mature, replicable solutions to regional medical centers and large and medium-sized hospitals across cities in Shanxi Province.
·Long-term: Collaborate with the hospital to participate in national industry exchanges, advance deep integration between the One-Net Unlimited underlying platform, AI and next-generation communication technologies, and improve the medical IoT industrial ecosystem.
Taking this benchmark project as a starting point, Ocamar and the hospital will drive the overall upgrade of smart medical infrastructure in Shanxi Province and create a replicable hospital-enterprise collaboration model for digital transformation of provincial regional medical centers nationwide.
The Excellence Award secured at the National Finals of the 8th Smart Medical Innovation Competition under the Advanced Infrastructure (New-Quality Medical Network) Track stands as dual recognition by the industry of Datong No.5 People’s Hospital’s digital construction achievements and Ocamar’s core technological prowess in medical IoT.
Moving forward, Ocamar will further deepen hospital-enterprise collaborative innovation, iterate on its One-Net Unlimited converged network technology, and empower more medical facilities to build secure, efficient and integrated digital foundations for smart healthcare.
